My Little Album of Ireland - Cork's 96FM Interview with Fiona Corcoran

Recently I chatted with Cork’s 96FM Fiona Corcoran about our children’s book - My Little Album of Ireland.

When Juliette Saumande and I came up with the idea for it, we wanted My Little Album of Ireland to be an inclusive and diverse children’s book, aimed to help every child (or reader or any age) feel seen in it.
Through its pages we take readers on an illustrated fun-filled tour of the Emerald Isle and along the way, they can build up their vocabulary in English and Irish too.

“At the Market / Ag an Margadh” illustration spread from My Little Album of Ireland inspired by The English Market in Cork, Ireland.

In my conversation with Fiona we explore the different places showcased in the book - Trim Castle, The Gaeltacht, Tír na nÓg and of course, The English Market in Cork (which I am yet to visit in person!); we talk about evocative illustrations, my work as a Champion of Reading for Children’s Books Ireland, the love for the Irish language and more!

Listen to our short 10 minute conversation about our beloved children’s book My Little Album of Ireland (The O’Brien Press).
