I AM A CHAMPION OF READING!
Does that mean I can read at the speed of light? NO!
Does it mean that I have read a million books? NO!
I am, in fact, CHAMPIONING BOOKS
for the incredible children at St. Joseph’s National School in Dundalk!
With the support of Children’s Books Ireland and the Late Late Toy Show appeal, I am now working with the children and staff from St. Joseph’s National School in Dundalk in a projector called Every Child A Reader: Reading Communities for the next THREE YEARS, helping to foster and develop a love for books and reading (FOR FUN!)
St. Joseph's National School Dundalk will receive 1000 high quality children's books throughout the programme, according to the preference of the school and the children (who of course have their voices heard in all the projects we work together!)
The aim of the project is to create buzz and excitement for the whole school community so every student feel part of their library's success, teachers feel supported in making use of the library, and families are encouraged to bring the culture of reading into their homes.
This is a wonderful project and I cannot express how much joy and honour it is to be part of it!
