Hello! My name is Tarsila and I’m a Children’s Books Illustrator creating fun art for children! (and their parents, relatives, teachers, librarians…)

Creating books for children is a very complex process and everyone involved – from the very first draft to the selling of international rights – is very much invested and striving to get the best outcome possible: An AWESOME CHILDREN’S BOOK!

As an illustrator for the children’s books market, I understand the importance of highly collaborative work, and because I’m open to ideas and suggestions I’m not afraid of changing, tweaking and editing!

I enjoy working closely with editors, art directors, and designers to create amazing books together. Just like them, I love children’s books that read and feel just right!

My début picturebook, Ná Gabh ar Scoil! has been shortlisted for both the CBI Children’s Book of the Year Awards 2016 and the Gradam Réics Carló 2016 (Book of The Year for Young People in Irish).

Besides creating super fun illustrations I collect picturebooks, I write children’s books reviews for Inis Magazine; I work as a Doodle Doctor for Children’s Books Ireland and I also run Illustration Workshops and do School Visits.
