Today I had the immense pleasure of holding my “Draw Your Own Story” workshop at the Roscommon Library part of the Bookworms Children’s Literary Festival 2017.

Two amazing classes of school girls from St. Mhuire joined me in two unexpected adventures!

Since Roscommon has a lovely presence of Brazilian nationals we discussed a little about Brazilian myths, legends and folklore and because we developed our own stories – some elements came through in the stories the girls created!

We explored characters, settings, problems (and solutions!) for our stories…

…we practiced some drawing skills with the cool “Quick Drawing Cheat Sheet(click here to download yours!)

And the best part of all – WE PUT IT ALL INTO PICTURES!

The girls are absolutely amazing! They have so much creativity and talent and they were a pleasure to have. Thank you all for coming and taking part and I hope you all had great fun. I sure did!

Special thanks to the teachers who were there supporting their students and my work, to Kevin, McGrath who helped set up the room and carry all of my workshop materials and books; and to lovely Meliosa McIntyre and the Roscommon Libraries for the opportunity!
